We’re passionate about photographing newborn babies and have been since 2010. Many of them have been back into our studio and we’ve watched them grow.
Through detailed posing and styling we’ll create fine art quality images that will help you cherish those memories forever. We use beautiful props, blankets and wraps to create timeless images of your newborn in the first 14 days of their life, whilst your baby is still very sleepy and curly and they don’t mind us moving them around from pose to pose while they rest in dreamland!
The Experience
At Pure Purple, we strive to offer unparalleled customer service and a stress-free experience for our clients. Most of our clients are new parents, busy trying to figure out the ins and outs of caring for a new baby, so we work to take care of as many of the details for you as possible.All sessions go at baby’s pace. We always allow plenty of time for feeding and changing when the baby needs it, so the session can last for around 3 hours. During this time parents can chill out on the sofa and enjoy a cup of coffee. Babies pee and poo on everything (you don’t need to worry though we’re used to it!) We have plenty of wipes and pads on hand and everything is washed after each session.
After your session, we’ll meet again at the studio for the most exciting part – seeing your session images in all their gorgeousness! We’ll help you to go through the images, select your favourites and help you to decide what display products best suit you and the images you’ve chosen. Don’t worry, it’s not a pressurised sales environment, we encourage you to choose only the very best and your favourite images.
Booking with Us
We recommend that parents schedule their newborn sessions before the baby arrives to make sure they have a spot on our calendar! Contact us during your first or second trimester and we can mark you down. We prefer to book a date 5 to 7 days after your due date. We know that most babies don’t arrive on that date, but it gives us an idea of when the session will actually happen. Put us on the official “baby is here” call list and we can make final arrangements for the session. Don’t worry if you haven’t pre-booked, just get in touch and we’ll check for any free sessions.
If your baby is over 14 days, this is not to say we can’t photograph your newborn at any other age, beautiful images can be captured at any stage, using the same styling, your baby just may not be as sleepy and may not go into all the poses. It’s best to contact us and we can chat about your baby and what’s possible. The first few days when he is sleepy, squishy and curling up as
