Little Tayla came to see us today, she slept through most of her first photo shoot, but at 9 days old its not much of a surprise.  Being so cute takes alot of energy i guess.

We spent a lovely afternoon with Grace and her family recently.  Grace and Ava had a lovely time eating cake, well Ava eat most of the cake!  Grace had such a beautiful soulful little way about her.

Little Ross, who was just over 2 weeks old came to see us today.  His Mum responded to our casting call on Facebook.

Ross was super chilled and a great model, one of the backgrounds we used arrived as we were mid sitting.  Here are just a few of the shots from Ross’s sitting.

There are a few spots left for our new born casting call, so if you know of someone who has just had or is just about to have a baby, get them to give us a call at the studio.

I often hear Mum’s say that they would love to get a family portrait but ‘they are at that age where they just wont smile for photo’s’.  Well I am pretty sure that I didn’t smile when I was a teenager, well maybe some times lol.  I am of the opinion that that is the best time to get a portrait of them. Before long they will leave home, head out in to the big bad world  and you will forget just how moody they were as teenagers.

The images below are off a cool family from the area.  We had a great time during this sitting, the kids ranged from cute as you like to; yes you have guessed it, moody.  Even the ‘moody’ one smiled for most of the pics.  Personally I think the moody ones are the best but thats just me.  Nicky and I have a lots of years before we get to the moody stage with the girls, but we will have plenty of feet stamping before we get there..

Oh and the images were taken at a local Mill..  love the place.

So we had a visit on Monday from some very scary yet very cute witches and monsters.  Much cake was eaten it seemed.  Here are just a few pics of Ava’s little Halloween party.  She didn’t want to even be part of it in the beginning.  Thanks for everyone who turned up and made it a fun afternoon.  Even some parents got dressed up!!!

Are you a traditional album sort of person, or are you more contemporary?

We spend a lot of time and effort sourcing suppliers that will give our clients products that they cannot find anywhere else.  We like to make our products different from all the other photographers out there.  It would be easier and cheaper for us to offer the same albums, the same frames etc as everyone else, but We want to offer our clients something different.  It is therefore very rewarding for me especially when a client is happy to listen to suggestions about what their album might look like.  The pic below is of an album just in from Albums Australia.  Lucinda and Glenn, wanted a beautiful album unique to them.  As purple and cream were prominent colours during their day I suggested a two tone leather cover, and embossing their name vertically instead of the traditional horizontal.  The team at AA (no not the car repair peeps or dirnkstoomuch.com aa) have created a beautiful contemporary exterior to an elegant if somewhat traditional interior.  So you can be both traditional and contemporary at the same time.

I love this album cover.  I hope you do too.  Lucinda and Glenn thanks for being daring enough to go for my wacky ideas.
